A total of seven firms have submitted bids to set up 1,200 MW of Inter-State Transmission System (ISTS)-connected wind-solar hybrid power projects with or without Energy Storage Systems (ESS) anywhere in India, under Tranche-X of NHPC Limited. These firms include:

  • Adani Renewable Energy Holding Twelve Limited (Adani Green Energy Limited)
  • Avaada Energy Private Limited (Avaada Power Private Limited)
  • Illuminate Hybren Private Limited (Mahindra Susten)
  • Juniper Green Energy Private Limited
  • Power Mech Projects Limited
  • ReNew Solar Power Private Limited (ReNew Power Ventures Private Limited)
  • Sprng Vayu Vidyut Private Limited (Sprng Energy Private Limited)

In December 2024, NHPC invited Request for Selection (RfS) bids for selecting Hybrid Power Developers (HPDs) for the 1,200 MW ISTS-connected wind-solar hybrid power projects, with the option to add a greenshoe capacity of an additional 1,200 MW. The projects will be developed on a build, own, and operate (BOO) basis through tariff-based competitive bidding (TBCB).

The projects involve setting up 1,200 MW ISTS-connected wind-solar hybrid power projects with or without ESS, including dedicated transmission networks up to the interconnection/delivery point, to supply power to NHPC. NHPC will sign power purchase agreements (PPAs) with the successful bidders for 25 years.

The Scheduled Commencement of Supply Date (SCSD) is set to be 24 months from the signing of the PPA.
