Sekura Energy acquires 350 MW solar assets from O2 Power for Rs 20 billion

Sekura Energy, the energy platform owned by Edelweiss Alternatives, has acquired 350 MW of operational solar assets from O2 Power in Madhya Pradesh for Rs 20 billion. These assets were developed under the Rewa Ultra Mega Solar (RUMSL) initiative, a joint venture between Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) and Madhya Pradesh Urja Vikas Nigam (MPUVNL).

Petronas-owned Gentari was also in contention for the acquisition. In 2021, Beempow Energy, a subsidiary of O2 Power, secured 350 MW capacity in RUMSL’s auction for 550 MW of solar projects at the Agar Solar Park.
