The Central Electricity Regulatory Commission (CERC) has approved Power Grid Corporation of India Limited’s (Powergrid) petition for truing up the transmission tariff for the 2019-24 period and determining the tariff for 2024-29 for the Combined Asset under the WRSS XI Scheme in the Western Region.

CERC approves truing up of transmission tariff for Powergrid’s assets in Eastern Region
The Central Electricity Regulatory Commission (CERC) has approved Power Grid Corporation of India Limited’s (Powergrid) petition for truing up the transmission tariff for the 2019-24 period and determining the tariff for the 2024-29 period for the asset under “LILO of Kolaghat-Rengali 400 kV Single Circuit (S/C) line at Baripada and establishment of a new 400/220/132 kV substation at Baripada” in the Eastern Region.
For the 2019-24 period, the annual fixed charges (AFC) allowed for the asset were Rs 84.84 million in 2019-20, Rs 85.14 million in 2020-21, Rs 85.49 million in 2021-22, Rs 86 million in 2022-23, and Rs 86.74 million in 2023-24.
For the 2024-29 tariff period, the AFC allowed are Rs 77.35 million in 2024-25, Rs 78.18 million in 2025-26, Rs 79.12 million in 2026-27, Rs 80.67 million in 2027-28, and Rs 82.83 million in 2028-29.

CERC approves truing up of transmission tariff for Powergrid’s transformer at Jeypore substation
The Central Electricity Regulatory Commission (CERC) has approved Power Grid Corporation of India Limited’s (Powergrid) petition for truing up the transmission tariff for the 2019-24 period and determining the tariff for the 2024-29 period for the asset under “315 MVA Transformer at Jeypore Sub-station along with associated bays” in the Eastern Region.
For the 2019-24 period, the annual fixed charges (AFC) allowed for the asset were Rs 22.04 million in 2019-20, Rs 22.45 million in 2020-21, Rs 22.86 million in 2021-22, Rs 23.36 million in 2022-23, and Rs 23.95 million in 2023-24.
For the 2024-29 tariff period, the AFC allowed are Rs 17.56 million in 2024-25, Rs 18.13 million in 2025-26, Rs 18.77 million in 2026-27, Rs 19.54 million in 2027-28, and Rs 18.86 million in 2028-29.

CERC approves truing up of transmission tariff for Powergrid assets in Uttar Pradesh
The Central Electricity Regulatory Commission (CERC) has approved Power Grid Corporation of India Limited’s (Powergrid) petition for truing up the transmission tariff for the 2019-24 period and determining the tariff for the 2024-29 period for the “Combined Asset under Transmission System Associated with 220 kV System Strengthening Scheme” in Uttar Pradesh.
For the 2019-24 tariff period, the annual fixed charges (AFC) allowed for the asset were Rs 19.72 million in 2019-20, Rs 19.54 million in 2020-21, Rs 19.38 million in 2021-22, Rs 19.23 million in 2022-23, and Rs 19.12 million in 2023-24.
For the 2024-29 tariff period, the AFC allowed are Rs 18.7 million in 2024-25, Rs 18.79 million in 2025-26, Rs 18.89 million in 2026-27, Rs 18.99 million in 2027-28, and Rs 19.1 million in 2028-29.

CERC approves truing up of transmission tariff for Powergrid assets in the northern region
The Central Electricity Regulatory Commission (CERC) has approved Power Grid Corporation of India Limited’s (Powergrid) petition for truing up the transmission tariff for the 2019-24 period and determining the tariff for the 2024-29 period for the “Combined asset consisting of Asset-I: 400 kV D/C Chamera Pooling Station-Jalandhar transmission line along with bays and Line Reactor at Jalandhar, and Asset-II: 220 kV D/C transmission line from GIS Pooling Station Chamba-Chamera-III Hydro Electric Project (HEP)” under the “Transmission System Associated with Chamera-III HEP” in the northern region.
For the 2019-24 tariff period, the annual fixed charges (AFC) allowed for the combined asset were Rs 572.8 million in 2019-20, Rs 555.09 million in 2020-21, Rs 537.47 million in 2021-22, Rs 520.58 million in 2022-23, and Rs 504.8 million in 2023-24.
For the 2024-29 tariff period, the AFC allowed are Rs 480.91 million in 2024-25, Rs 313.94 million in 2025-26, Rs 311.4 million in 2026-27, Rs 308.79 million in 2027-28, and Rs 306.26 million in 2028-29.

CERC approves truing up of transmission tariff for Powergrid assets in the southern region
The Central Electricity Regulatory Commission (CERC) has approved Power Grid Corporation of India Limited’s (Powergrid) petition for truing up the transmission tariff for the 2019-24 period and determining the tariff for the 2024-29 period for the “combined elements comprising of Kaiga – Narendra 400 kV D/C transmission line, 400/220 kV sub-station at Narendra with one 315 MVA interconnecting transformer (ICT), and the second 315 MVA ICT at Narendra sub-station” under the “Kaiga-Narendra Transmission System” in the southern region.
For the 2019-24 tariff period, the annual fixed charges (AFC) allowed for the combined asset were Rs 195.6 million in 2019-20, Rs 194.7 million in 2020-21, Rs 193.88 million in 2021-22, Rs 193.16 million in 2022-23, and Rs 193.02 million in 2023-24.
For the 2024-29 tariff period, the AFC allowed are Rs 182.47 million in 2024-25, Rs 184.23 million in 2025-26, Rs 186.4 million in 2026-27, Rs 188.67 million in 2027-28, and Rs 191.08 million in 2028-29.

CERC trues up tariff for Powergrid assets in the northern region
The Central Electricity Regulatory Commission (CERC) has approved Power Grid Corporation of India Limited’s (Powergrid) petition for truing up the transmission tariff for the 2019-24 period and determining the tariff for the 2024-29 period for assets under the “System Strengthening Scheme in the Singrauli-Vindhyachal corridor in the northern region.”
For the 2019-24 tariff period, the annual fixed charges (AFC) allowed for the combined asset were Rs 29.4 million in 2019-20, Rs 21.99 million in 2020-21, Rs 21.9 million in 2021-22, Rs 21.85 million in 2022-23, and Rs 22.01 million in 2023-24.
For the 2024-29 tariff period, the AFC allowed are Rs 22.6 million in 2024-25, Rs 23.05 million in 2025-26, Rs 23.52 million in 2026-27, Rs 24.02 million in 2027-28, and Rs 24.55 million in 2028-29.

CERC trues up tariff for Powergrid’s 220 kV Anta Transmission System
The Central Electricity Regulatory Commission (CERC) has approved Power Grid Corporation of India Limited’s (Powergrid) petition for truing up the transmission tariff for the 2019-24 period and determining the tariff for the 2024-29 period for the 220 kV Anta Transmission System in the northern region.
For the 2019-24 tariff period, the annual fixed charges (AFC) allowed for the transmission asset were Rs 96.05 million in 2019-20, Rs 96.94 million in 2020-21, Rs 97.78 million in 2021-22, Rs 98.88 million in 2022-23, and Rs 100.24 million in 2023-24.
For the 2024-29 tariff period, the AFC allowed are Rs 94.86 million in 2024-25, Rs 66.76 million in 2025-26, Rs 68.29 million in 2026-27, Rs 69.84 million in 2027-28, and Rs 71.52 million in 2028-29.

CERC grants transmission license to Karur Transmission
The Central Electricity Regulatory Commission (CERC) has approved the petition filed by Karur Transmission Limited for a separate transmission license under the regulated tariff mechanism (RTM) route. The project includes the augmentation of 2×500 MVA, 400/230 kV transformation capacity (3rd and 4th interconnecting transformers) at Karur pooling station (PS) and the implementation of a 230 kV line bay at Karur PS for interconnection of renewable energy generating stations (REGS) of M/s Nannai Solar Park Private Limited.
The commission noted that the Central Transmission Utility of India Limited (CTUIL) recommended granting the license through letters dated July 17, 2024, and January 23, 2025. Based on this recommendation, CERC has granted the license subject to the following conditions:
- The transmission license will remain valid for 25 years, unless revoked earlier.
- The licensee must comply with the provisions of the CERC (Procedure, Terms, and Conditions for Grant of Transmission Licence and Other Related Matters) Regulations, 2024, or any subsequent amendments.
- The licensee may apply for a renewal two years before expiry under Regulation 9(2) of the Transmission Licence Regulations.
- The licensee cannot engage in power trading during the license period.
- The licensee must pay the license fee as per CERC (Payment of Fees) Regulations, 2012, or any subsequent amendments. Non-payment exceeding 60 days will be considered a breach of license terms.

KSERC forms committee to evaluate RPIL’s capital investment proposal
The Kerala State Electricity Regulatory Commission (KSERC) has issued an order on the petition filed by Rubber Park India Private Limited (RPIL) seeking approval for capital investment in modifying an extra high tension (EHT) substation to improve power supply reliability.
Based on RPIL’s proposal and the concurrence of Kerala State Electricity Board Limited (KSEB), the commission has decided to form a committee to evaluate the necessity of inserting a new tower (D-60) and assess ways to optimize project costs without compromising safety or efficiency.
The committee will:
- Conduct a technical evaluation of the project.
- Provide expert feedback and recommendations.
- Review technical specifications and feasibility.
- Identify potential risks and suggest optimal solutions.
A detailed report will be submitted to KSERC after analyzing alternative approaches and cost parameters.

KSERC approves Rs 56,474.3 million capital investment plan for KSEB’s transmission projects
The Kerala State Electricity Regulatory Commission (KSERC) has approved the capital investment plan for the strategic business unit – transmission (SBU-T) of Kerala State Electricity Board Limited (KSEB Limited) for the period FY 2022-23 to FY 2026-27. The total approved investment amounts to Rs 56,474.3 million, after deducting grants and Government of India (GoI) funds.
The approved investment is categorized as follows:

KSERC has approved the investment proposal with the following conditions:
- Competitive Bidding: All projects must be executed through competitive bidding to ensure cost-effectiveness.
- Tendering Process: KSEB must ensure sufficient participation in tenders and re-tender if the bids are not competitive.
- Truing-Up Petitions: KSEB must submit annual revenue requirement (ARR) and expenditure reports, detailing project performance and funding sources, as per Regulation 15 of KSERC (Terms and Conditions for Determination of Tariff) Regulations, 2021.
- Cost-Benefit Analysis: A detailed cost-benefit assessment must be provided for each project, including commercial operation dates, cost overruns, and justifications for any delays.
- Future Capital Investment Petitions: Future proposals must follow KSERC guidelines and include all required financial and technical details.
The commission will issue final orders on capital asset additions after conducting prudency, economic feasibility, and cost-benefit analyses.

MPERC approves ARR of Rs 167.53 million for SLDC Jabalpur for FY 2025-26
The Madhya Pradesh Electricity Regulatory Commission (MPERC) has approved the petition filed by the State Load Despatch Centre (SLDC), Madhya Pradesh Power Transmission Company Limited (MPPTCL), Jabalpur for the determination of the annual revenue requirement (ARR) for FY 2025-26, along with the levy and collection of fees and charges and the true-up of ARR for FY 2023-24.
The approved ARR for SLDC Jabalpur for FY 2025-26 is as follows:

The approved net ARR for FY 2025-26 stands at Rs 167.53 million, after adjusting for true-up of Rs 11.57 million from FY 2023-24.
