RECPDCL invites bids for Transmission System Development in Madhya Pradesh
REC Power Development and Consultancy Limited (REC-PDCL), a wholly owned subsidiary of REC Limited, has invited bids for the selection of a Transmission Service Provider (TSP) to develop intra-state transmission system for evacuation of 1230 MW power (MPPMCL portion) through STU network from proposed 2X800 MW Thermal Power Project of M/S Mahan Energen Ltd. (MEL).
The project will be executed through a tariff-based competitive bidding (TBCB) process.
The transmission scheme involves constructing two major substations at Rewa (Sagra) and Amarpatan, each with 400/220/132 kV capacity, including transformers, reactors, and provisions for future expansions.
Additionally, the project includes high-capacity double-circuit transmission lines connecting these substations to MEL’s power plant and other regional substations. Line In-Line Out (LILO) configurations and interconnectors will strengthen the network further. The scope also encompasses modifications at existing MPPTCL substations to facilitate the integration of the new infrastructure.
The estimated project cost is Rs 63.95 billion, with the scheduled completion timeline set at 24 months from the effective date of the agreement. The Rewa Substation and its associated transmission elements are expected to be commissioned by April 2027. Both substations are designed for scalability, ensuring they can accommodate future demand growth in Madhya Pradesh.
