Powin has teamed up with BHE Renewables to deliver a major solar and storage microgrid in Ravenswood, West Virginia. This project will supply renewable energy to Titanium Metals (TIMET), a subsidiary of Precision Castparts, for manufacturing titanium products for the aerospace industry.

Powin will provide a 50MW Centipede Stack800 battery energy storage system, designed for 10-12 hours of energy discharge. The system will complement a 106MW solar array, forming a key part of the microgrid. This project adheres to the domestic content requirements of the Inflation Reduction Act, which encourages the use of US-sourced materials and labour.

BHE Renewables, a division of Berkshire Hathaway Energy, will oversee the construction and operation of the solar and battery system. Initial deliveries are scheduled for 2025, with full capacity expected by 2027.
