Saatvik subsidiary wins Rs 10.15 crore solar module supply order

Saatvik Green Energy Limited informed exchanges on January 22, 2026 that its material subsidiary, Saatvik Solar Industries Private Limited, has received and accepted a Rs 10.15 crore supply order. The order was placed by a domestic Independent Power Producer and Engineering, Procurement and Construction company for solar photovoltaic modules. The company stated that the order is commercial in nature and scheduled for execution by February 2026. 

AESL reports strong Q3 and nine month growth, smart meters cross 9.25 million

Adani Energy Solutions Limited announced its unaudited results for the quarter and nine months ended December 31, 2025 on January 22, 2026. Q3 consolidated total income rose 15.7% year on year to Rs 6,945 crore, while EBITDA increased 20.7% to Rs 2,210 crore. Adjusted PAT for Q3 FY26 stood at Rs 574 crore, up 30.4%, while nine month adjusted PAT grew 34.4% to Rs 1,670 crore. During 9MFY26, the company installed 6.12 million smart meters, taking cumulative installations to 9.25 million. 

IEEMA launches Telangana Power Conclave 2026 in Hyderabad

The Indian Electrical and Electronics Manufacturers’ Association inaugurated the first Telangana Power Conclave in Hyderabad on January 22, 2026. The event focused on Telangana’s energy roadmap, including pumped storage projects, renewable integration, grid modernisation, and electric mobility. Special Chief Secretary (Energy) Navin Mittal said electricity consumption in the state could rise from about 95 TWh to nearly 780 TWh by 2047, requiring a five fold increase in installed capacity. Over 300 participants attended the conclave, including policymakers, utilities, regulators, and industry representatives. Discussions covered green energy deployment, data centres, T&D resilience, and utility digitalisation.

NGEL signs MoU with UP for renewable energy and green hydrogen projects

NTPC Green Energy Limited signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Government of Uttar Pradesh on January 22, 2026. The MoU was executed on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum Annual Meeting in Davos. Under the agreement, NGEL will develop renewable energy and green hydrogen projects in the state. The framework outlines cooperation to support clean energy deployment and related infrastructure.  

India’s power transmission network crosses 5 lakh circuit km

India’s national transmission network has crossed 5 lakh circuit kilometres of 220 kV and above lines, according to the Press Information Bureau on January 14, 2026. The milestone was achieved with the commissioning of a 628 ckm, 765 kV Bhadla II to Sikar II line in Rajasthan. This line enables evacuation of renewable energy from the Rajasthan Renewable Energy Zone and an additional 1,100 MW from solar projects in Bhadla, Ramgarh, and Fatehgarh. Since April 2014, the network has expanded by 71.6%, with 2.09 lakh ckm added and transformation capacity rising by 876 GVA. Ongoing projects are aimed at supporting the 500 GW non fossil fuel capacity target by 2030.

Premier Energies commissions 400 MW cell line, Q3 PAT rises 53%

Premier Energies Limited commissioned a 400 MW Mono PERC solar cell line at its E City plant in Telangana. The new line was developed through a brownfield expansion at the Maheeshwaram facility, taking total operational cell capacity to 3.6 GW. For Q3 FY26, consolidated PAT rose 53.44% year on year to Rs 3,916.20 million, while revenue increased 13.02% to Rs 19,364.64 million. The company reported an order book of Rs 64,850 million as of December 31, 2025. Expansion projects include new solar module and cell facilities in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.

GreenCell Mobility raises $89 million to scale electric bus operations

GreenCell Mobility has raised $89 million in mezzanine funding from IFC, British International Investment, and Tata Capital. The funding will support expansion of its electric bus fleet to 3,700 buses across several states and the Union Territory of Puducherry. The buses will be deployed on intra city routes under the National E-Bus Program and PM Seva E-Mobility initiative. GreenCell currently operates more than 1,200 electric buses. The company said the investment will accelerate deployment and support public transport electrification.

ADM Solar Power secures 24.5 MW government module supply order

ADM Solar Power has secured an order to supply 24.5 MW of domestically manufactured solar modules for projects in Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh. The supply includes projects implemented by MEDA and MSEDCL, with 3.2 MW allocated under PM KUSUM Component C in Madhya Pradesh. All modules will meet Domestic Content Requirement norms and use mono PERC technology rated between 500 watt peak and 525 watt peak. The installations aim to support decentralised solar generation in the agriculture sector. Earlier this month, ADM also signed a 10 MW PPA under an Open Access Captive model for its Aligarh facility.

SAEL commissions 1 GWp solar project at Khavda park

SAEL Industries Ltd has commissioned a 1 GWp solar project with 800 MW AC capacity at the Khavda Renewable Energy Park in Gujarat. The project will supply power under 25 year PPAs with Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Limited. It uses over 1.5 million bifacial TOPCon modules, with more than 60% assembled at SAEL’s facilities in Punjab and Rajasthan. The site spans around 3,600 acres and faced challenges related to saline soil and seasonal flooding. As of September 2025, SAEL reported 8,299.51 MWp of contracted and awarded solar capacity.

CESC Green signs MoU with Uttar Pradesh for renewable project

CESC Green Power Limited has signed an MoU with the Government of Uttar Pradesh for a major renewable energy investment. Executed on 20 January 2026, the agreement covers development of a 3 GW solar cell and module manufacturing plant and a 60 MW solar power plant. The project scope also includes ancillary units, an R&D lab, and supporting infrastructure. The proposed investment is approximately Rs. 3,800 crores. The disclosure was made under SEBI LODR Regulations.

Actis explores sale of Athena Renewable Energy platform

Actis is reportedly exploring a potential sale of Athena Renewable Energy at a valuation of around Rs 3,000 crore, according to The Economic Times. The firm has appointed Kotak Mahindra Capital as advisor for the transaction. Athena operates over 550 MW of solar capacity under 25 year PPAs with state owned entities. Potential buyers reportedly include Hexa Climate Solutions, IndiGrid Infrastructure Trust, Ontario Teachers’ Pension Fund, Sekura Energy, and Jindal Renewables. Actis acquired Athena in 2020 through its Long Life Infrastructure Fund.

Fujiyama commissions 1 GW solar cell plant in Uttar Pradesh

Fujiyama Power Systems Limited has commissioned a 1 GW solar cell manufacturing plant in Dadri, Uttar Pradesh. The facility was built with an investment of Rs 300 crore and will produce Mono Perc DCR solar cells for captive use. The output will support the company’s existing 1.6 GW solar panel manufacturing operations. The project was completed within six months and inaugurated by MNRE officials. The company said the move strengthens supply chain security and reduces reliance on imports.

RECPDCL issues RFP for 765 kV Kankani transmission upgrade

REC Power Development and Consultancy Limited has issued an RFP for selecting a Transmission Service Provider for upgrading the 400 kV Kankani substation to 765 kV. The project will be awarded through tariff based competitive bidding on a BOOT basis. Bid submission closes on 18 March 2026. The scope includes new transformers, reactor banks, and a 765 kV double circuit line to Phagi. The project is scheduled for commissioning within 30 months.

Global wind capacity seen crossing 2 TW by 2030: GWEC

The Global Wind Energy Council projects global wind installations to exceed 2 TW by 2030. GWEC revised its 2025 installation forecast upward by 8.8% to 150 GW, driven largely by Asia. China is expected to install over 100 GW in 2025, while India added a record 6.3 GW. Europe installed 22.5 GW during the year. GWEC said wind energy is becoming a foundational technology for economic growth and decarbonisation.
