Waaree group adds eight IPP-focused step-down subsidiaries
Waaree Energies Limited disclosed the incorporation of eight wholly owned subsidiaries through its step-down arm, Waaree Forever Energies Private Limited. The entities were incorporated between January 13 and January 15, 2026, to hold specific independent power producer projects. Each subsidiary has been created solely for individual IPP assets and has not commenced operations, reporting nil turnover. WFEPL holds 100% equity in all eight companies, and no acquisition cost or governmental approvals were involved. Waaree Energies stated that the incorporations are not related party transactions and were executed on an arm’s length basis.
AESL incorporates two wholly owned transmission subsidiaries
Adani Energy Solutions Limited has incorporated A-One Energy Networks Limited and NextGen Energy Networks Limited as wholly owned subsidiaries for transmission activities. The Ministry of Corporate Affairs intimated AESL of the incorporations on January 16 and January 17, 2026, respectively. Both entities will focus on establishing, operating, and maintaining power transmission systems aligned with AESL’s core business. Each subsidiary has an authorised share capital of 1,00,000 equity shares of Rs. 10 each, with AESL investing Rs. 5,00,000 per company for a 100% stake. The companies are yet to commence operations.
Advait Energy wins Rs 33 crore GETCL HTLS conversion contract
Advait Energy Transitions Limited secured a Rs 32.93 crore turnkey contract from Gujarat Energy Transmission Corporation Limited on January 16, 2026. The project involves converting five 66 kV transmission lines in the Himatnagar Circle to High Temperature Low Sag conductors. Existing DOG conductors will be replaced with equivalent HTLS conductors offering higher current-carrying capacity at the same weight. The contract includes supply, installation, testing, and commissioning, with a nine-month execution timeline. The disclosed value includes all applicable taxes.
ACME Solar commissions 12 MW wind capacity in Sayla taluka
ACME Solar Holdings Limited announced the commissioning of an additional 12 MW from its 100 MW wind project in Gujarat through its subsidiary, ACME Eco Clean Energy Private Limited. This raises the project’s operational capacity to 68 MW. The commissioning at Village Titoda in Sayla taluka, Surendranagar district, was verified by officials from GEDA and PGVCL. The update was disclosed in a regulatory filing dated 17 January 2026. Formal certification for the commissioning is expected shortly.
G R Infraprojects emerges L-1 for Rs 488 crore NTPC BESS project
G R Infraprojects Limited has been declared the lowest bidder for an EPC contract for a Battery Energy Storage System at NTPC Limited’s Mouda Super Thermal Power Station. The contract value is Rs 487.77 crore, following the opening of financial bids on January 16, 2026. The project forms part of NTPC’s broader BESS rollout across multiple thermal stations. The stipulated completion period is 15 months. Tenders for several other NTPC stations remain under the bidding process.
Insolation subsidiary signs ALMM module supply MoU with Bondada Engineering
Insolation Energy Limited stated that its wholly owned subsidiary, Insolation Green Energy Private Limited, has signed an MoU with Bondada Engineering Limited for solar module supply during 2027–2028. Under the agreement, IGEPL will act as a priority supplier of ALMM-compliant modules, covering both ALMM-I and the upcoming ALMM-II categories. The MoU positions IGEPL as a preferred vendor for Bondada Engineering’s future solar projects. The company clarified that there is no shareholding relationship and that the arrangement is not a related party transaction. No board or equity rights are included in the agreement.
JSW Energy awards turbine contract for 1,600 MW Salboni project
JSW Energy Limited announced that its subsidiary, JSW Thermal Energy Limited, has awarded a contract to Toshiba JSW Power Systems Private Limited for two 800 MW steam turbine generators. The equipment will be used at the 1,600 MW Salboni thermal power project in West Bengal. JSW Energy said sourcing from an associate company supports execution certainty and supply chain reliability. Following Salboni and a proposed expansion at KSK Mahanadi, the company’s thermal capacity is expected to rise to 9,058 MW. The Salboni project was revived in 2025 after earlier delays and a new power purchase agreement with West Bengal State Electricity Distribution Company Limited.
KPI Green wins BoS orders for 534 MW Khavda solar cluster
KPI Green Energy Limited has secured Balance of System contracts for a 534 MW solar cluster at Khavda, Gujarat, awarded by Adani Green Energy Limited and Adani Green Energy Six Limited. The scope is split between supply and onsite services, covering materials, installation, testing, civil works, and commissioning. Project execution will be carried out in phases as per contract timelines. The company confirmed that the contracts are not related-party transactions. The total contracted capacity under the orders is 534 MW.
NGEL commissions 37.5 MW phase of Bhuj solar project
NTPC Green Energy Limited has commenced commercial operations of a 37.5 MW phase of a solar project in Bhuj, Gujarat. The third phase of the 150 MW project achieved commercial operation on January 17, 2026. The asset is owned by Ayana Renewable Power Four Private Limited, a subsidiary of Ayana Renewable Power Private Limited under ONGC NTPC Green Private Limited. Following the commissioning, NGEL group’s installed capacity increased to 8,347.78 MW. The project is being executed in phases.
POWERGRID commissions Rajasthan renewable evacuation transmission system
POWERGRID Bhadla Sikar Transmission Limited has commissioned a transmission scheme for evacuating power from Rajasthan’s solar energy zones. The DOCO was received on January 16, 2026, following the charging of the 765 kV Bhadla II–Sikar II double circuit line. The project is part of an 8.1 GW evacuation programme under Phase II Part E. Implemented on a BOOM basis, the SPV was acquired by POWERGRID in March 2023. The system strengthens interstate transmission for large-scale solar integration.
Shakti Pumps commits Rs 75 crore to 2.2 GW solar manufacturing project
Shakti Pumps (India) Limited approved an equity investment of Rs 75 crore in its subsidiary, Shakti Energy Solutions Limited, for a 2.2 GW solar cell and module manufacturing facility. The plant will be set up at Pithampur, Madhya Pradesh, and will focus on Solar DCR cells and PV modules. The revised investment is significantly higher than the earlier Rs 3 crore proposal. The project forms part of a wider Rs 17,000 million expansion plan to double pump and motor capacity. The company stated that the investment is not a related party transaction.
Power Ministry updates RoW compensation process to speed up transmission projects
The Ministry of Power issued amendments to its Supplementary Guidelines on Right of Way compensation to reduce procedural delays. The revised land valuation process requires simultaneous appointment of three IBBI-empanelled valuers by the Monitoring and Review Committee. Valuation reports must be submitted within 21 days to the District Magistrate, with two reports selected by lottery to determine the reference rate. A defined formula governs how discrepancies are resolved. The changes operationalise guidelines issued on March 21, 2025, building on the revised RoW policy of June 2024.
Vikram Solar shifts entire module portfolio to G12R platform
Vikram Solar Limited announced a transition to a fully G12R-based solar module portfolio. The move aligns the company’s offerings with larger wafer formats, N-type cell architectures, and bifacial designs. Vikram Solar operates 9.5 GW of manufacturing capacity across West Bengal and Tamil Nadu, enabling portfolio-wide standardisation. Its G12R modules deliver outputs of up to 640 Wp with efficiencies reaching 23.69%. The transition will be implemented in phases to ensure continuity for existing customers.
Indosolar appoints Dr Jignesh Rathod as CEO, posts strong Q3 FY26 results
Indosolar Limited appointed Dr Jignesh Devchandbhai Rathod as Chief Executive Officer, effective January 16, 2026. He replaces Amit Ashok Paithankar, who resigned citing personal reasons and other commitments. The Board also approved unaudited results for Q3 FY26, reporting total income of Rs 199.70 crore and PAT of Rs 41.47 crore. For the nine months ended December 31, 2025, total income stood at Rs 597.13 crore with PAT of Rs 204.60 crore. Onix Renewable signs Gujarat MoU for green ammonia and solar projects
Onix Renewable Ltd signed an MoU with the Government of Gujarat for multiple renewable energy initiatives. The proposals include a Rs 10,000 crore green ammonia project at Fulzar in Rajkot district, targeted for commercial operations in 2028. Additional investments cover PM-KUSUM Component-C solar projects and underground cable works, with execution starting in 2026. Kakinada named Green Hydrogen Valley at AM Green project launch
Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu declared Kakinada as India’s Green Hydrogen Valley on January 17, 2026. The announcement followed the groundbreaking of a Rs 15,600 crore green ammonia project by AM Green. The facility targets initial production of 0.5 MMT by mid-2027, scaling to 1.5 MMT annually. An additional Rs 2,000 crore investment has been proposed for deploying 2 GW of alkaline electrolyzers. The project is aligned with the Andhra Pradesh Integrated Clean Energy Policy 2024.
Nash Energy commissions 2 GWh automated battery pack line near Bengaluru
Nash Energy commissioned a 2 GWh automated battery pack manufacturing line at Dobbaspet near Bengaluru. The facility supports prismatic battery packs ranging from 100 Ah to 314 Ah for BESS, EVs, and heavy electric mobility applications. This marks the first phase of a planned 10 GWh expansion over five years. The company is also establishing an India Engineering Centre to strengthen R&D capabilities. The investment supports domestic energy storage development amid rising renewable penetration.
CG Power secures $99.2 million data centre transformer export order
CG Power and Industrial Solutions Limited secured an export order worth approximately Rs 900 crore ($99.2 million) from Tallgrass Integrated Logistics Solutions LLC, USA. The contract covers the supply of power transformers for a large-scale data centre project in the United States. Deliveries will take place over 12 to 20 months under FAS Mumbai Port terms as per Incoterms® 2020. The transformers will be designed and manufactured in India. The order marks CG Power’s entry into the global data centre segment.
IREDA arm sanctions first overseas green energy loan
IREDA announced that its subsidiary, IREDA Global Green Energy Finance IFSC Limited, has sanctioned its first overseas green energy loan. The $22.5 million facility will support a 100 MW solar photovoltaic project in Serenje District, Zambia. The loan was approved by IGGEFIL’s Board in New Delhi and extended to Swarna Solar Limited. IGGEFIL operates from GIFT City and focuses on financing renewable projects outside India. The transaction marks its first operational activity in international markets.
DMR Engineering secures hydro consultancy order in Bhutan
DMR Engineering Limited secured a Rs 4.60 crore consultancy contract for the 237 MW Jongthang Hydropower Project in Bhutan. The contract, awarded by Druk Green Power Corporation Limited, covers DPR preparation and ESIA services. The execution period is 12 months, with the value inclusive of taxes. The project forms part of Bhutan’s Renewable Energy Development Roadmap 2024. Commissioning is targeted for 2034, subject to feasibility and financing.
