PFC Consulting Ltd (PFCCL) has empanelled ten entities that would be eligible to participate as Advanced Metering Infrastructure Service Providers (AMISP) for smart metering projects under the Revamped Distribution Sector Scheme (RDSS). PFCCL would be associated with such projects as a project implementation agency (PIA).

The empanelment has been done under four groups, depending on the size of the projects in terms of the number of smart prepaid meters involved. Group 1 includes projects with less than 0.2 million meters. Group 2 covers projects ranging from 0.2 million to 1 million meters. Group 3 consists of projects with 1 million to 2 million meters, while Group 4 includes projects exceeding 2 million meters.

Among the ten empanelled entities, four have qualified for projects across all four groups. These entities include Adani Energy Solutions Ltd, Genus Smart Metering Pvt Ltd, IntelliSmart Infrastructure Pvt Ltd, and Megha Engineering & Infrastructures Ltd.

Other empanelled entities are Apraava Energy Pvt Ltd, GMR Smart Electricity Distribution Pvt Ltd, HPL Electric & Power Ltd, Iskraemeco India Pvt Ltd, Polaris Smart Metering Pvt Ltd, and Montecarlo Ltd. The eligibility of these entities varies based on the group classification.

PFCCL, as the PIA, would be responsible for implementing smart metering projects on behalf of distribution companies (discoms). All the empanelled AMISPs are also qualified to bid for projects where REC Power Development & Consultancy Ltd (RECPDCL) serves as the PIA.

While the final selection of AMISPs for specific projects would be based on price bids, PFCCL has the discretion to conduct an e-reverse auction process for bidder selection.
