Orkla India partners with CleanMax for solar energy supply to Karnataka

Orkla India has partnered with CleanMax to source solar energy from a 6.6 MWp solar power plant in Jagaluru, Karnataka, through a 25-year power purchase agreement. This initiative will allow Orkla’s factories in Karnataka to operate entirely on renewable energy.

The project is managed through a special purpose vehicle, with CleanMax holding a 74% equity stake and Orkla India holding 26%. CleanMax will oversee the plant’s energy generation, operation, and maintenance. The solar facility is expected to generate 10 million kWh annually, offsetting 7,500 tonnes of carbon emissions yearly.
