Oriana Power to build gigawatt-scale electrolyser factory in India

Oriana Power, a commercial and industrial solar manufacturer, plans to establish a gigawatt-scale factory in India to produce alkaline electrolysers and balance of plant (BOP) modules. The initiative aims to boost local manufacturing of critical renewable energy technology, support the transition to clean energy, and reduce dependency on imports.

The company plans to invest between USD 25-35 million in the factory, which will be commissioned in two phases. The first phase, with an annual capacity of 500 MW for electrolyser production, is expected to be operational by 2026. Oriana Power is partnering with US-based Splitwaters, known for its advanced alkaline electrolyser and BOP technology, to develop the factory. Splitwaters’ modular technology helps address high initial capital costs and lengthy execution timelines.
