NTPC Renewable Energy Limited (NTPC REL) has re-invited bids for an engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) package for a 245 MW solar photovoltaic (PV) power project in Gujarat. The project will be built on Plot-16 in the South Block of the 4,750 MW Khavda Renewable Energy Power Park, located in the Rann of Kutch.
The tender was reissued on May 28, 2025. The last date for bid submission is June 26, 2025.
Earlier, bids for EPC packages totaling 795 MW—including two 275 MW projects and one 245 MW project—were issued in July 2024 as part of the same power park.
The scope of work includes complete design, engineering, and construction of the solar plant. This involves supply of solar PV modules, civil and electrical works, geotechnical investigation, erection of tracker-based module mounting structures (MMS), and power evacuation through 33 kV cables to a 33/400 kV Gas Insulated Substation (GIS).
The selected contractor will also handle comprehensive operation and maintenance (O&M) of the plant.
The Khavda Renewable Energy Power Park is being developed on 9,500 hectares in Kutch and will integrate wind and solar capacities. Gujarat Industries Power Company Limited (GIPCL) is the nodal agency. Transmission infrastructure will be developed jointly by Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI), Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (PGCIL), and the Central Electricity Authority (CEA).
