NTPC invites bids for 1,200 MW wind-solar hybrid project

NTPC has issued a tender for the supply of 1.2 GW of power from inter-state transmission system (ISTS) connected wind-solar hybrid projects in India, with a greenshoe option for an additional 600 MW capacity. The project will be executed on a build, own, operate basis. Interested bidders must submit their bids by October 8, 2024, and a reverse auction will determine the final supplier. According to the tender guidelines, all bidders must pay Rs 22,500 for the cost of the RfS documents and provide an earnest money deposit of Rs 1.16 million per MW.

In August 2024, NTPC Green Energy issued a tender for the sale of 100,000 carbon credits from Verified Carbon Standard (VCS)-registered wind and solar projects with a combined capacity of 610 MW. Additionally, in July 2024, NTPC announced Juniper Green Energy, JSW Neo Energy, TEQ Green Power, Adyant Enersol, and Avaada Energy as winners in the auction for 1,000 MW of ISTS-connected wind-solar hybrid power projects under Tranche VI.
