NTPC Green Energy Limited (NGEL) and Rajasthan Rajya Vidyut Utpadan Nigam Limited (RVUNL) have established a joint venture (JV) to develop 25 GW of renewable energy projects and 1 million metric tonnes per annum (MMTPA) of green hydrogen and its derivatives in Rajasthan. The Chief Minister of Rajasthan recently dedicated 160 MW of a 320 MW solar power project in Bhainsara to the nation.
In September 2024, NGEL awarded Suzlon Group a 1,166 MW wind energy order, involving the supply and installation of 370 wind turbines for projects in Gujarat, including ventures with NTPC Renewable Energy Limited and a joint project with Indian Oil Corporation Limited. Earlier, in May 2024, NGEL collaborated with Mahatma Phule Renewable Energy and Infrastructure Technology Limited (MAHAPREIT) to establish clean energy projects in Maharashtra with a capacity of up to 10 GW, focusing on wind, solar, and hybrid systems.
