Nova Clean Energy gains agreements for 1GW power projects in Texas

Nova Clean Energy has executed interconnection agreements and high-voltage equipment supply contracts for a portfolio of wind power projects in Texas, aiming to deliver up to 1 gigawatt of clean energy to the state’s power grid.

The portfolio includes multi-phase wind projects in the Delaware Basin and central Gulf Coast, with co-located battery storage to enhance grid reliability.

Construction is set to begin in late 2025, with power delivery expected by winter 2026. Additionally, Nova is finalizing agreements for 500MW of solar and storage projects within Texas. These initiatives address Texas’s accelerating energy demand, driven by sectors such as oil and gas, petrochemicals, green fuels, and data centres.

Bluestar Energy Capital is the majority owner of Nova Clean Energy, with Great Bay Renewables as a co-investor. In April 2024, Nova expanded its portfolio by acquiring 1GW of wind and solar projects from BNB Renewable Energy. Bluestar further broadened its renewable energy footprint by launching Noveria Energy, focusing on European battery energy storage, in July 2024.
