Masdar, in partnership with Taaleri Energia, has reached financial close for the 132 MW Čibuk 2 wind farm in Serbia, securing a €144 million debt facility from UniCredit and Erste (Erste Group and Erste Bank Serbia). The wind farm will power 62,000 households and offset 311,200 tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions annually.
The project, developed by Masdar Taaleri Generation in collaboration with Serbian developer New Energy Solutions, will feature 22 Nordex 7 MW turbines. Nordex will supply, operate, and maintain the turbines under a 35-year service agreement. Construction has begun, and the wind farm is expected to be operational by the first quarter of 2026.
Čibuk 2 will share a grid connection with the Čibuk 1 wind farm, Serbia’s largest at its completion in 2019. Once completed, Čibuk 2 will bring Masdar’s renewable energy capacity in Serbia to 312 MW, supporting the country’s goal of achieving 41% renewable energy capacity by 2030.
