India Finalizes National Electricity Plan for 2032 with Rs 9 Trillion Outlay

Power Minister Launches CSIRT-Power to Strengthen Cybersecurity in Energy Sector

Union power minister Manohar Lal inaugurated the CSIRT-Power facility in New Delhi on September 23, 2024, as part of the National Cyber Security Policy. The project involves installing STATCOMs at Khavda Pooling Stations 1 and 3 to manage voltage fluctuations from renewable energy. PGCIL outbid Adani Energy Solutions Ltd, boosting its strong FY25 performance.

L&T Secures Power Transmission and Distribution Contracts Worth Up to Rs 150 Billion in Middle East

Larsen & Toubro’s Power Transmission & Distribution division won contracts in Saudi Arabia and UAE to enhance high-voltage grids, valued between Rs 100 billion and Rs 150 billion. The projects include establishing ±500kV HVDC links, 380kV and 400kV GIS substations, and integrating renewable energy into the grid to strengthen regional power resilience and capacity.

Cabinet Approves Two Green Hydrogen Units in Mumbai Metropolitan Region

The State Cabinet has approved two green hydrogen production units in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region, with capacities of 10-15 KTPA. These anchor projects align with the 2023 Government Resolution, promoting green hydrogen’s role in powering fuel cells, generating electricity, and producing chemicals. The move supports India’s renewable energy goals and sustainable growth initiatives.

GE Vernova Secures Five Onshore Wind Deals in Spain 

GE Vernova signed five agreements to supply 6.1 MW turbines for wind projects across Spain, including 16 turbines for Castilla León wind farms and upgrades in Catalonia and Andalucía. Deliveries start in late 2024. With 4.3 GW of operational capacity in Spain, GE Vernova supports the country’s wind energy growth, aiming to surpass 50 GW by 2030.
