KEC International secures Rs 10.79 billion in new T&D and cable orders

KEC International Ltd has announced new orders totalling Rs 10.79 billion, primarily in its Transmission & Distribution (T&D) and Cables divisions. These new T&D projects span multiple regions, including India, West Asia, and the Americas. Key contracts include a 765 kV/400 kV transmission line project in India and multiple transmission line projects in Saudi Arabia and Oman. KEC will also upgrade a 400 kV transmission line in the UAE and provide infrastructure components in the Americas.

With these new orders, KEC’s year-to-date order intake has increased to over Rs 87 billion, reflecting a 60% growth compared to the previous year, according to Vimal Kejriwal, managing director and CEO of KEC International Ltd. The company’s FY24 annual report noted a total order intake of Rs 181.02 billion, with major contributions from the India T&D business, followed by international T&D and civil projects. Twenty-one per cent of these orders are for supplying products such as towers, cables, hardware, and poles.

As of March 31, 2024, KEC’s order book stands near Rs 300 billion, with an additional L1 position exceeding Rs 70 billion, mainly in the T&D business. This brings the total to over Rs 370 billion, offering strong revenue visibility for the next 6 to 8 quarters.
