IREDA secures international credit rating from S&P Global
The Indian Renewable Energy Development Agency (IREDA) has received an international credit rating from S&P Global Ratings Limited, achieving a ‘BBB-’ long-term and ‘A-3’ short-term issuer credit rating. The outlook for IREDA has been designated as ‘Stable’. This rating will facilitate IREDA’s access to funding and support its expansion into international markets.
In July 2024, IREDA announced plans to invest approximately Rs 2.9 billion in a 900 MW hydroelectric power project in Nepal. Earlier, in May 2024, IREDA established a wholly-owned subsidiary, IREDA Global Green Energy Finance IFSC Limited, in the International Financial Services Centre at Gujarat International Finance Tec-City (GIFT City), Gujarat. Additionally, in April 2024, IREDA’s board approved a borrowing plan of Rs 242 billion for the fiscal year 2024-25.
