Insolation Energy Limited has received a Letter of Intent (LoI) from Ajmer Vidyut Vitran Nagar Limited (AVVNL) and Jaipur Vidyut Vitran Nigam Limited (JVVNL) to set up cumulative 38.43 MW grid-connected solar power plant across Rajasthan.
The projects will be developed under Component A of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Urja Suraksha evam Utthaan Mahabhiyan (PM-KUSUM) program.
The LoI from AVVNL includes:
- 9 MW solar projects at six locations in Rajasthan with a levelised tariff of Rs 2.88 per kWh.
- 28 MW solar projects at 21 locations in Rajasthan with a levelised tariff of Rs 3.02 per kWh.
Additionally, JVVNL has awarded Insolation Energy a 1.43 MW solar project at a levelised tariff of Rs 2.88 per kWh.
In December 2024, AVVNL had invited bids for 68 MW solar projects across 53 locations in Dungarpur, Jhunjhunu, Nagaur, and Salumbar. Around the same time, JVVNL invited bids for 49.26 MW solar projects across 35 locations in Alwar, Dausa, Karuali, Kotputli, and Tonk. Both tenders were for feeder-level solarization under Component A of the PM-KUSUM program.
Under the LoI, Insolation Energy will handle the land lease for 26 years, system design, supply, installation, and commissioning of the projects. It will also be responsible for operation and maintenance (O&M) for 25 years. The projects will be developed under the Renewable Energy Service Company (RESCO) model and will include the construction of 11kV transmission lines to connect the solar plants to 33/11kV substations. A remote monitoring system (RMS) will also be installed to track performance.
Rajasthan Urja Vikas and IT Services Limited (RUVITL) will sign power purchase agreements (PPA) with Insolation Energy for 25 years on behalf of AVVNL and JVVNL. The projects are expected to be commissioned within nine months from the signing of the PPA.
