Ingeteam delivers over 1 GW of solar power systems for Acciona Energía projects in US
Ingeteam has supplied more than 1 GW of solar photovoltaic (PV) power conversion systems and controls to Acciona Energía for two significant projects in Texas, USA. The first project, with a capacity of 317 megawatts alternating current (MWac), includes 48 transformer stations equipped with 185 Ingeteam central inverters, marking Ingeteam’s first large-scale installation for Acciona Energía in the US market.
The second Texas project has a capacity of 458 MWac and features 71 medium voltage Full Skid transformer stations. These stations are fully integrated with 131 INGECON SUN 3Power C Series liquid cooling central inverters, demonstrating Ingeteam’s advanced cooling technology. Ingeteam is responsible for commissioning both plants and providing a power plant controller (PPC) to ensure efficient and reliable operation.
In addition, Ingeteam is commissioning a third solar PV project in Ohio, which will add 325MWac to the state’s solar capacity. For this project, Ingeteam has supplied 62 Full Skid transformer stations, 124 central inverters, and a PPC system.
Ingeteam has contributed over 5 GW of its technology to the US energy market, primarily in utility-scale PV and energy storage plants, with project capacities ranging from 100 MW to 500 MWac.
In July 2024, Ingeteam was also awarded a supply contract for the 93 MW Girgarre solar farm project in Victoria, Australia, providing transformers, a power plant control system, and advanced power electronics technology as a turnkey solution.
