Hero Future Energies (HFE) has signed a power purchase agreement (PPA) with SJVN Limited to supply 120 MW of firm and dispatchable power. The power will come from a renewable energy project integrated with energy storage.
HFE secured this capacity at a tariff of Rs 4.25 per kWh in SJVN’s 1,200 MW auction. The project will follow a build-own-operate model. It can be set up anywhere in India, as long as it connects to the interstate transmission system.
The project is expected to serve the power needs of a major northern state for 25 years once commissioned.
Separately, HFE has signed a memorandum of understanding with the Binh Dinh Provincial Department of Finance in Vietnam. This covers a proposed green hydrogen project in Binh Dinh, with an estimated investment of $200 million.
