Henkel India partners with CleanMax to reduce emissions
Henkel Adhesives Technologies India Private Limited (Henkel India) has partnered with CleanMax to reduce absolute emissions through a captive solar Power Purchase Agreement (PPA). The solar power project, located in Maharashtra, will be owned and operated by CleanMax and will supply solar power to Henkel India’s Kurkumbh and Thane manufacturing sites.
This partnership will lead to annual carbon savings of over 4,500 tonnes at these sites. Henkel India is also setting a Net-Zero pathway for its Scope 3 emissions under the Science-based Targets initiative (SBTi). The company has already achieved carbon neutrality in its Chennai manufacturing processes, with its Rudrapur operations also converted to green energy.
In September 2024, CleanMax partnered with Orkla India for solar energy generation from a 6.6 MWp solar plant in Karnataka.
