The Electricity Department of Goa is planning to develop three new substations at Verna, Tuem, and Kundaim over the next five years. The estimated investment across these projects is Rs 11 billion.
The substations are expected to be built at a cost of Rs 4 billion each in Verna and Tuem, and Rs 3 billion in Kundaim. The projects will be taken up sequentially, with the first substation likely to begin construction within six to eight months.
The department is also considering the use of the Tariff-Based Competitive Bidding (TBCB) route for implementing these substations.
