GE Vernova Inc. has launched the RESTORE DC Block, an advanced containerized solution for Battery Enabled Energy Storage (BESS) with a capacity of 5 MWh and an operational duration of 2-8 hours. Designed for utility-scale renewable and energy storage projects, the solution enhances grid reliability by storing excess energy during high-generation periods and releasing it when demand peaks.
The RESTORE DC Block is part of GE Vernova’s FLEXRESERVOIR system, which integrates battery storage, power electronics, and advanced controls for seamless renewable energy integration. It prioritizes safety with comprehensive fire protection and cyber defence systems, ensuring secure and reliable operations. Advanced digital technology, including intelligent thermal management and high-speed edge analytics, allows for precise monitoring of the system’s state of charge, health, and safety, improving operational efficiency. Additionally, its liquid-cooled LFP cells deliver an industry-leading 93%+ round-trip efficiency and reliable performance over a 25-year lifespan, making it suitable for diverse climates and geographies.
