GE Vernova secures 140 MW wind turbine order in Romania

GE Vernova has secured a 140 MW wind turbine order in Romania from Public Power Corporation Renewables (PPCR). The company will supply, install, and commission 23 turbines, each with a 6.1MW capacity, for a wind project in Vaslui County. The agreement, finalized in Q2 2024, strengthens GE Vernova’s role in the European Union’s energy transition, where it has a long history of installing wind turbines.

Initial turbine deliveries are planned for the first half of 2025, with the wind farm expected to be fully operational by the end of that year.

This order follows GE Vernova’s recent memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Ukraine’s DTEK Group, aimed at developing wind power projects and upgrading grid infrastructure in Ukraine and the European Union.
