Four firms have been shortlisted as technically qualified for the Transmission scheme for evacuation of power from Ratle HEP (850 MW) & Kiru HEP (624 MW): Part-A: Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (PGCIL), Resonia Limited (erstwhile Sterlite Grid 32 Limited), Adani Energy Solutions Limited (AESL), and IndiGrid 2 Private Limited.

REC Power Distribution Company Limited (REC PDCL) invited Request for Proposal (RFP) bids for the same in September 2024.

REC PDCL has been appointed as the bid process coordinator (BPC) for the selection of a transmission service provider (TSP) for the establishment of the project in Rajasthan through a tariff-based competitive bidding (TBCB) process on a build, own, operate, and transfer (BOOT) basis.

The project comprises multiple components, including the LILO (Line-In Line-Out) of the 400 kV Kishenpur-Dulhasti line at Kishtwar Substation (S/s) along with associated bays. Additionally, the project involves the development of the 400 kV Kishenpur-Samba double-circuit (D/c) line, with one circuit being terminated at Kishenpur and the second connected to a bypassed circuit of the 400 kV Kishtwar-Kishenpur line.

The project also includes bypassing one circuit of the 400 kV Kishtwar-Kishenpur D/c line and connecting it with the 400 kV Kishenpur-Samba line, forming the 400 kV Kishtwar-Samba direct line. Further, a 1×80 MVAr switchable line reactor will be installed at the Samba end of the 400 kV Kishtwar-Samba line, and 1×63 MVAr switchable line reactors will be placed at the Jallandhar end of the Kishenpur-Jalandhar direct line. The 400 kV Samba-Jalandhar D/c line will also be modified, with one circuit terminated at Jalandhar.

Other key components include the installation of an 80 MVAr switchable line reactor at the Samba end of the Samba-Nakodar direct line and the bypassing of the 400 kV Jalandhar-Nakodar line, connecting it with the Samba-Jalandhar 400 kV line to form the 400 kV Samba-Nakodar direct line.

The estimated cost of the project is Rs 12.13 billion.
