German utility enviaM group, through its subsidiary envia THERM, has partnered with the ASG Group under the joint venture Ventura Holding to develop solar projects with a total potential of more than 700 MW in central Germany. The collaboration aims to accelerate the expansion of renewable energy and bolster the region as a green business and industrial hub.
Patrick Kather, enviaM board member for production and sales, highlighted the significance of the solar parks, which will generate enough electricity to power 270,000 households annually. He emphasized the project’s importance to the enviaM group’s initiatives in promoting green energy-dependent business and industry.
Thomas Kühnert, managing director of envia THERM GmbH, noted the plan to significantly expand electricity generation from wind and solar power plants in the coming years. The joint venture with ASG Group complements enviaM’s regional energy solutions.
The solar projects will be primarily located in Brandenburg, Saxony-Anhalt, and Saxony, with the first building permit for a 72 MW solar park in southern Brandenburg expected in 2024.
The cooperation and associated transaction were notarized and completed on August 1, 2024. The planned systems will be constructed gradually and the green electricity generated will be integrated with battery storage for regional energy solutions.
