Enercon secures 110.5 MW wind turbine contract from Polat Enerji in Turkey
German company Enercon has secured a contract to supply wind turbines totaling 110.5 MW for Turkish renewable energy company Polat Enerji. This deal supports the expansion of three wind farms across Turkey, boosting the country’s renewable energy infrastructure.
Enercon will supply 17 E-160 EP5 turbines for the Yalova/Göktepe 4 wind farm, two E-160 EP5 turbines for the Kırşehir/Geycek 3 wind farm, and two E-82 turbines for the İzmir/Ege 3 wind farm. The E-160 EP5 E2 turbine, with a nominal output of 5.50 MW, is designed for medium-to-low wind sites and offers customizable configurations, including four different hub heights.
The contract includes a 15-year operation and maintenance package, providing availability and spare parts guarantees for all three sites. Enercon plans to integrate a battery storage system at the Göktepe wind farm, highlighting its commitment to advancing hybrid solutions and innovative energy production technologies.
Enercon CCO Uli Schulze Südhoff expressed satisfaction with expanding their partnership with Polat Enerji in Turkey, while regional head CAMEA Arif Günyar emphasized the potential for this cooperation to set a precedent for future hybrid energy projects.
