The Delhi Electricity Regulatory Commission (DERC) has issued amended guidelines that remove application and registration charges for domestic rooftop solar systems up to 10 kW. These changes apply under the PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana.
The Net Metering for Renewable Energy (First Amendment) Guidelines, 2025 were notified under Guideline 3(1) and 3(7) of the original framework. They exempt eligible applicants from both the feasibility analysis fee and registration charges.
This amendment aims to ease the financial burden for households and promote wider adoption of rooftop solar systems. It supports the central government’s policy direction to increase clean energy use in the residential sector.
