Chamundeshwari Electricity Supply Corporation Limited (CESC) has issued a Request for Proposal (RfP) for 142.64 MW of distributed solar power projects in Karnataka. Bids can be submitted until May 29, 2025.

The projects will be developed on a build, own and operate (BOO) basis under the RESCO (Renewable Energy Service Company) model. They fall under Component C of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Urja Suraksha evam Utthaan Mahabhiyan (PM-KUSUM) scheme.

These solar plants will support agriculture feeders at the sub-station level, including pump sets. The scope of work includes design, survey, supply, installation, testing, commissioning, and 25 years of operations and maintenance. The plants will be connected through 11 kV lines with a Remote Monitoring System (RMS).

CESC will sign 25-year power purchase agreements (PPAs) with the selected solar power generators (SPGs). The Central Government will offer financial assistance of up to Rs 10.5 million per MW. The projects are expected to be completed by December 2025.

In a separate tender, the Punjab Energy Development Agency (PEDA) is inviting bids for 30 MW of rooftop and ground-mounted solar photovoltaic (PV) projects on government buildings in Punjab and Chandigarh. The bid deadline is July 1, 2025.

The scope includes design, manufacture, supply, erection, testing, commissioning, and 10 years of operations and maintenance. These projects are classified into five capacity categories, with completion timelines ranging from 90 to 150 days based on size:

  • Category I (1–3 kWp): 90 days

  • Category II (3–10 kWp): 90 days

  • Category III (10–100 kWp): 105 days

  • Category IV (100–500 kWp): 120 days

  • Category V (500–1,500 kWp): 150 days
