The Central Electricity Regulatory Commission (CERC) has awarded a final transmission licence to Kallam Transco Ltd (KTL), a subsidiary of India Grid Trust (IndiGrid), for developing an Inter-State Transmission System (ISTS) project in Maharashtra. The project, part of the “Western Region Network Expansion Scheme,” was secured under the Tariff-Based Competitive Bidding (TBCB) route.

KTL won the contract with an annual transmission tariff of Rs 152.50 million, surpassing bids from Sterlite Power, Torrent Power, and Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd. The absence of an e-reverse auction led KTL’s initial bid to be accepted.

The project, with an estimated cost of Rs 1.6 billion and an 18-month implementation period starting from April 2024, involves the construction of a 56 ckm transmission line connecting the 400kV Parli-Karjat line to the Kallam Pooling Station.
