Innergex inks EPA with BC Hydro for wind project in British Columbia

Innergex Renewable Energy has partnered with West Moberly First Nations and signed a 30-year electricity purchase agreement (EPA) with BC Hydro for the Stewart Creek wind project.  The 200 MW community wind project is located 60 km east of Innergex’s Dokie Wind Farm, British Columbia. Developed by Mingyang Group and several research teams, the turbine offers a significant solution for renewable energy storage by converting hydrogen back into electricity during peak hours. Vestas enters Asia Pacific with wind project order in Japan

Denmark’s Vestas has secured an order to supply 21 V236-15.0 MW turbines for the 315 MW Oga Katagami Akita Offshore Wind Project in Japan’s Akita Prefecture.  The deal includes a long-term service agreement to optimise turbine performance. This marks Vestas’ first firm order for its V236-15.0 MW turbine in the Asia-Pacific region and its first project under Japan’s offshore wind auctions based on the Renewable Energy Sea Area Utilization Act.

Longroad Energy signs PPA with Meta for 300 MWac 1000 Mile solar project

Longroad Energy has signed a long-term Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with Meta for the entire output of its 300 MWac 1000 Mile solar project in Yoakum County, Texas.  The energy produced will be supplied to the Southwest Power Pool (SPP) grid and support Meta’s data center operations. The 1000 Mile solar project, Longroad’s first in the SPP region, is expected to commence commercial operations in 2026.

Masdar strengthens European presence with two Iberian acquisitions

JERA Co., Inc., Green Power Investment Co., Ltd. (GPI), and Tohoku Electric Power Co., Inc.
