Cabinet approves two green hydrogen units in Mumbai Metropolitan Region
The State Cabinet has approved the establishment of two green hydrogen production units in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR), with a production capacity ranging from 10 to 15 kilo tonne per annum (KTPA). These units will be selected as anchor projects, in line with the 2023 Government Resolution, which defines an anchor unit as one of the first three commissioned green hydrogen projects with a minimum capacity of 50 KTPA.
Green hydrogen has versatile applications, including powering fuel cells for vehicles, generating electricity, storing surplus renewable energy, and producing chemicals, fertilizers, ammonia, and heating systems.
