BPCL to establish joint ventures for renewable and biogas projects

Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd (BPCL) approved two joint ventures during its Board meeting on 12 September 2024. The first JV with Sembcorp Green Hydrogen India (SGHIPL) will focus on developing and operating renewable energy projects across India, including green hydrogen production. Both BPCL and SGHIPL will hold equal 50% stakes in the venture. The second JV with GPS Renewables will involve setting up compressed biogas (CBG) plants nationwide. These ventures are pending regulatory approvals from NITI Aayog, DIPAM, and other bodies.
