Andhra Pradesh to become energy-efficient state, says CM Naidu

Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has announced plans to transform Andhra Pradesh into the most energy-efficient state in India. In a meeting with Energy Efficiency Services Limited (EESL) CEO Vishal Kapoor and other officials at the State Secretariat, Naidu outlined several initiatives aimed at improving energy efficiency across various sectors.

The discussions focused on distributing energy-efficient household appliances to homes under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) and providing e-cycles and energy-efficient appliances to government employees on a subsidized basis. EESL CEO Vishal Kapoor mentioned that e-cycles would also be offered on subsidy to DWCRA (Development of Women and Children in Rural Areas) members and students, promoting sustainable transportation options.

During the meeting, a model of the e-cycle was demonstrated to the Chief Minister. Naidu emphasized the need for eco-friendly policies and urged EESL officials to develop initiatives that align with this vision. He also highlighted the importance of promoting solar power, especially in government offices, to enhance the state’s renewable energy capabilities.
