CTUIL approves Rs 4 billion interstate transmission schemes under RTM
The Central Transmission Utility of India Ltd (CTUIL) has approved seven interstate transmission system (ISTS) schemes worth nearly Rs 4 billion under the regulatory tariff mechanism (RTM). Announced on September 13, 2024, these projects, located across the eastern, western, and northern regions, will be executed by Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd (PGCIL) or its TBCB subsidiaries.
The schemes, each costing under Rs 1 billion, include:
- Implementation of 220kV line bays for a 500-MW renewable energy plant in Rajasthan (Rs 0.11 billion)
- Augmentation of transformation capacity at Bhadla-II, Rajasthan (Rs 0.60 billion)
- Upgrading of Hisar substation, Haryana (Rs 0.50 billion)
- Transmission connectivity for NTPC’s Lara TPS-III in Chhattisgarh (Rs 0.98 billion)
- Enhancements at Rajgarh substation, Madhya Pradesh (Rs 0.64 billion)
- Installation of 765kV line bays at Vataman substation, Gujarat (Rs 0.71 billion)
- Expansion at PGCIL’s Pandiabili substation, Odisha (Rs 0.46 billion)
These projects aim to enhance India’s transmission infrastructure, with completion timelines ranging from 2025 to 2027.
