Surana Solar Limited has been awarded a letter of award (LoA) from the Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL) to develop a 54 MW solar photovoltaic project in Maharashtra. The project falls under the Mukhyamantri Saur Krushi Vahini Yojna 2.0, which aims to implement solar energy at the feeder level under Component C of the PM-KUSUM Scheme.

The project will operate at a tariff rate of Rs 2.99 per kWh, with a subsidy of Rs 1.03 per MW. Surana Solar is expected to complete the project within 12 months from the award date. Power generated from the project will be procured under a 25-year contract following its commissioning. The total estimated cost of the project is Rs 1.89 billion, with MSEDCL procuring the power for feeder-level solarisation.

Earlier in the month, MSEDCL also signed a Letter of Intent (LoI) with Adani Green Energy Limited (AGEL) for a long-term power purchase agreement (PPA).
