Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Ltd (MSEDCL) has issued a letter of intent to Adani Group for the long-term supply of 6,600 MW of thermal and green energy. The agreement includes 5,000 MW of solar power from Adani Green Energy Ltd (AGEL) and 1,600 MW of thermal power from Adani Power Ltd (APL).

Adani Power and AGEL will sign formal 25-year power supply agreements with MSEDCL, following a competitive bidding process. The 5,000 MW solar capacity will be developed at AGEL’s Khavda solar park in Gujarat at a flat tariff of Rs 2.70 per kWh, with the projects connecting to the interstate transmission system over the next three years. Meanwhile, APL will supply 1,496 MW of thermal power from a new 1,600 MW ultra-supercritical coal plant, expected to start operations in three to four years.
