Mubadala Energy secures key wins in Andaman exploration

Mubadala Energy has achieved two major milestones in its Andaman exploration efforts. Partnering with Harbour Energy, it secured the Central Andaman licence (Harbour 60%, Mubadala 40%) from Indonesia’s oil and gas regulator, MIGAS. This acquisition enhances Mubadala’s strategy in the Andaman Sea, boosting the basin’s potential.

Additionally, Mubadala completed the South Andaman drilling campaign, appraising the Layaran discovery. The multi-well campaign, including Layaran-1, Tangkulo-1, and Layaran-2, confirmed the basin’s multi-TCF potential using advanced deep-water technology.

Mubadala and its partners are now working to bring these resources into production quickly to support the region’s energy needs.
