Siemens to supply electrolysers for Hamburg Green Hydrogen Hub

Siemens Energy has been contracted to supply and install six electrolyser units for the Hamburg Green Hydrogen Hub (HGHH), which is constructing a 100 MW green hydrogen electrolysis plant at the former Moorburg coal site. The plant, set to be fully operational by 2027, will produce 10,000 tonnes of green hydrogen annually. Siemens Energy will also provide ten years of maintenance, with electrolyser stacks manufactured at its Berlin gigafactory and assembled in Mühlheim and another European location.

In May 2024, Siemens Energy secured a $1.52 billion deal with Energinet to enhance Denmark’s electrical grid and support its renewable energy goals.
