Pace Digitek Limited has signed an Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) contract with NLC for development of a 250 MW/500 MWh standalone Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) across three locations in Tamil Nadu, along with 12 years of Operations and Maintenance (O&M).

The contract adds to Pace Digitek’s expanding BESS business, which spans manufacturing, engineering, system integration, EPC and long-term O&M. Its subsidiary, Lineage Power Private Limited (LPPL), has also crossed production of 300 utility-scale BESS containers, representing approximately 1.5 GWh of battery energy storage capacity.

NLC project

Under the contract, Pace Digitek will develop the 250 MW/500 MWh standalone BESS across three locations in Tamil Nadu and provide O&M services for 12 years.

The storage capacity is intended to contribute to grid reliability and support the integration of renewable energy. The project also expands Pace Digitek’s involvement in BESS from equipment manufacturing and system integration to project execution and long-term operational services.

Manufacturing

LPPL has manufactured 300 utility-scale BESS containers, equivalent to approximately 1.5 GWh of battery energy storage capacity.

Pace Digitek is expanding its manufacturing footprint as demand for energy storage increases. The company is augmenting its existing 2.5 GWh BESS manufacturing capacity with an additional 2.5 GWh expansion.

Separately, it is establishing another 5 GWh BESS manufacturing facility and an in-house container fabrication facility.

The expansion is aimed at increasing manufacturing scale, strengthening backward integration, improving cost efficiencies and supporting execution across the BESS value chain.

BESS platform

Pace Digitek has developed an integrated BESS platform covering manufacturing, engineering, system integration, EPC and long-term O&M. The model allows the company to undertake different stages of the project lifecycle, from equipment manufacturing and system integration to project execution and lifecycle services.

Commenting on the manufacturing milestone, Mr. Venugopal Rao Maddisetty, Chairman & Managing Director, Pace Digitek Limited, stated:

“Crossing the milestone of 300 utility-scale BESS containers is an important achievement in our journey of building an integrated battery energy storage business. It reflects the capabilities we have built across manufacturing, engineering and project execution, enabling us to deliver end-to-end BESS solutions at scale. As demand for battery energy storage continues to grow, we remain focused on expanding our manufacturing capabilities, strengthening technology and enhancing execution to support our customers across utility-scale and commercial applications.”
