AMPIN Solar ONE Begins Production at Odisha’s First Solar Cell Unit

AMPIN Solar ONE, the joint venture between AMPIN Energy Transition and Jupiter International Limited, has commenced commercial solar cell manufacturing at its integrated facility in Bhubaneswar, marking the production of its first solar cell.

The facility is Odisha’s first solar cell manufacturing unit and has been established under the Government of India’s Production Linked Incentive (PLI) Scheme for High Efficiency Solar PV Modules.

The start of production marks the commissioning of the solar cell manufacturing line at the integrated plant, which has an annual manufacturing capacity of 1.3 GW of solar cells and 1.9 GW of solar modules.

AMPIN Solar ONE combines Jupiter International’s manufacturing capabilities with AMPIN Energy Transition’s renewable energy portfolio. The facility is expected to supply solar cells and modules for both captive requirements and third-party developers across India.

The integrated manufacturing facility has been designed to support expansion of India’s solar supply chain while contributing to the country’s clean energy manufacturing ecosystem.

The commissioning also marks the establishment of Odisha’s first solar cell manufacturing facility and is expected to strengthen the state’s position as an emerging manufacturing destination for clean energy and advanced technologies.
