ENGIE achieves financial closure for 250 MW Khaba solar project in Rajasthan
ENGIE has achieved financial closure for its 250 MW Khaba Solar Project in Barmer, Rajasthan, with construction expected to be completed by Q3 2026.
The project is being developed through Khaba Renewable Energy Private Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of ENGIE. Financing has been secured from leading global financial institutions, supporting the project as it moves into the next phase of development.
Once commissioned, the 250 MW project is expected to generate approximately 650 GWh of clean electricity annually and help avoid nearly 180 kilo tonnes of CO₂ emissions every year.
Project impact
The Khaba project is also expected to create employment opportunities during construction and contribute to regional economic development in Rajasthan. ENGIE expects around 80% of these opportunities to benefit people from local communities, in line with its approach across its project sites.
