UPERC approves 240.6 MW solar PPAs under PM KUSUM Component C-2
The Uttar Pradesh Electricity Regulatory Commission (UPERC) has approved 86 Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) with a cumulative capacity of 240.6 MW under the feeder-level solarisation initiative of the PM KUSUM Scheme’s Component C-2. The approvals relate to solar projects to be developed across segregated agriculture feeders under the Renewable Energy Service Company (RESCO) model.
The projects form part of UPNEDA’s 2,553.5 MW tender covering 1,002 distribution substations. Power generated from these plants will be supplied to Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation Limited (UPPCL) under 25-year PPAs.
Developers and tariffs
The approved projects include multiple developers, with tariffs ranging from Rs 2.20 per unit to Rs 2.99 per unit.
Major developers include:
- NACOF NFCD Green Energy, NACOF NFCD Solar Venture and NACOF NAMCO Solar Energy Venture, which secured multiple projects across Fatehpur, Etah and Farrukhabad, largely at Rs 2.93 per unit.
- IMC Solar BDN LLP, which won 12 PPAs totalling about 36 MW, with tariffs ranging from Rs 2.72 to Rs 2.87 per unit across Etawah, Moradabad, Agra, Kasganj and Kanpur Dehat.
- Solar Partners Pvt. Ltd., an SPV of Khaitan Beverages Pvt. Ltd., secured a 2.3 MW project at Saharanpur at Rs 2.85 per unit.
- Suksh Solar Energy Pvt. Ltd., Suksh Solar Power Pvt. Ltd. and Suksh Solar Services Pvt. Ltd. secured projects in Firozabad and Mainpuri at Rs 2.81 per unit.
- AKY Solar Pvt. Ltd. and Lohchhab Solar Pvt. Ltd. secured projects at Rs 2.82 per unit.
- Singh Solar and Power Co. secured five projects across Saharanpur, Muzaffarnagar and Shamli, with tariffs ranging from Rs 2.67 to Rs 2.78 per unit, including the lowest tariff in this batch.
- Other successful developers include Balajee Construction, Excel Renewable Energy, Solarbird Infra, Voltic Solar, Rajaji Green Energy, Truesun Renewables, Devangi Green Energy, Rajshree Solar, Gomti Solar, MM Solar, Satya Power, Sunedge Power, Divy Power, Malishya Solar, Deengra Solar, SUPL Renewable Energy, Sauge Products, SPRH Solar, KSM Powers and Surya Shakti Enterprises.
Tender progress
The feeder-level solarisation programme aims to supply solar power to segregated agricultural feeders while reducing UPPCL’s power purchase costs and supporting renewable energy adoption in the state.
With the latest approvals, UPERC has approved 449 PPAs aggregating 1,405.5 MW under the tender. The Commission directed the petitioners to facilitate timely execution of the projects to achieve the objectives of the PM KUSUM Scheme.
