Suzlon Energy Limited has launched a new wind turbine platform, ‘Blue Sky,’ at the WindEurope Annual Event 2026 in Madrid. The platform is aimed at European markets and forms part of the company’s Suzlon 2.0 strategy.

The platform includes two turbine variants. The S175 has a 5.0 MW rating and is designed for low wind regimes, while the S163 has a 6.3 MW rating for moderate to high wind conditions. Both models can achieve tip heights of up to 250 metres.

Suzlon stated that the platform is aligned with evolving grid requirements in Europe and the ongoing repowering cycle, where older turbines are being replaced with higher-capacity machines.

The company operates research and development centres across Germany, the Netherlands, Denmark, and India. As of end-2025, Suzlon reported a global installed wind capacity of about 21.5 GW across 17 countries, including around 15.5 GW in India and about 6 GW in international markets.

Suzlon has been present in Europe for 25 years and currently operates in 11 European Union member states.
