Neuron Energy has commissioned a containerised battery energy storage system (BESS) manufacturing facility in Talegaon, Maharashtra, marking its entry into the grid-scale energy storage segment.

The facility spans seven acres and has been developed with an investment of Rs 100 crore. It is designed as a fully automated, robotic production unit with an annual manufacturing capacity of 5 GWh and the capability to produce up to 1,000 containerised BESS units per year. These systems are intended for deployment across solar and grid infrastructure to store excess generation and supply power during peak demand periods.

Pratik Kamdar, Co-founder and Chief Executive Officer (CEO), said the expansion into grid-scale storage aligns with the company’s existing capabilities in advanced energy solutions and that the Talegaon plant will cater to both domestic and international markets.

Neuron Energy plans to allocate 60% of production to the domestic market and 40% for exports. Its target customers include solar developers, commercial and industrial (C&I) consumers, and utilities. The facility is expected to generate over 500 direct and indirect jobs across engineering, manufacturing, system integration, and technical services.

Founded in 2018, Neuron Energy manufactures energy storage systems, lithium-ion batteries for electric vehicles (EVs), and EV chargers. The company operates existing facilities in Kapashera (Delhi), Noida, and Pune, and plans to expand its energy storage portfolio further.
