NTPC Renewable Energy Limited (NTPC REL), a wholly owned subsidiary of NTPC Green Energy Limited (NGEL), has executed a Green Ammonia Purchase Agreement (GAPA) with Solar Energy Corporation of India Limited (SECI) on March 30, 2026. The agreement covers supply of green ammonia under the Strategic Interventions for Green Hydrogen Transition (SIGHT) scheme of the National Green Hydrogen Mission.
Supply arrangement and intermediary structure
Under the agreement, NTPC REL will supply 70,000 metric tonnes per annum (MTPA) of green ammonia to Krishna Phoschem Limited, a fertiliser company based in Meghnagar, Madhya Pradesh. SECI will act as the intermediary procurer between NTPC REL and the end user.
The agreement follows an earlier disclosure in August 2025, when NGEL had indicated plans to pursue green ammonia supply arrangements under the SIGHT scheme. NGEL disclosed the executed agreement to the stock exchanges on March 31, 2026, in compliance with Regulation 30 of the Securities and Exchange Board of India (Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements) Regulations, 2015.
The company did not disclose pricing details or the timeline for commencement of supplies.
