Azad Engineering Limited has signed an eight-year long-term contract and price agreement with Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Limited, Japan, to act as a single source supplier of highly engineered hot-section nozzle vane segments for gas turbine engines, according to a regulatory filing.

The agreement marks a shift for the Hyderabad-based precision engineering company from manufacturing compressor-section airfoils and other turbine components to producing critical combustion hot-section turbine nozzle vane segments. These components operate in high-temperature environments and are central to turbine performance.

The company said the parts will be produced at a dedicated lean manufacturing facility designed for advanced gas turbine platforms serving Mitsubishi Heavy Industries’ global power generation markets.

The contract forms part of Azad Engineering’s expanding engagement with Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, a major global turbine manufacturer. The company clarified that the transaction does not involve related party interests and that it holds no shareholding in Mitsubishi Heavy Industries.

The financial size of the contract has not been disclosed, with the company citing confidentiality.
