Author: PPD Team Date: March 19, 2026

Solarium Green Energy Limited has commissioned a 1 GW solar module manufacturing facility in Ahmedabad, Gujarat. The company confirmed in a regulatory filing dated March 18, 2026 that the plant, located at Survey No. 508/1 & 508/2 in Village Miroli, is ready for commercial production.

Capacity and technology
The facility has been developed as part of the company’s backward integration strategy announced in June 2025. Built at an estimated cost of about Rs 90 crore, excluding working capital, the plant is equipped with automated manufacturing lines.

It is designed to produce large-format G12 modules of up to 725 Wp, using technologies such as tunnel oxide passivated contact (TOPCon), half-cut cells, and bifacial modules. The equipment includes tabber-stringers, laminators, and sun simulators sourced from international suppliers.

Operational and financial impact
Solar modules account for around 50–60% of engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) project costs. The facility is expected to reduce dependence on third-party suppliers, support faster execution, and improve margins through captive consumption.

In addition to internal use, the plant will supply modules to external customers, including EPC companies and other business-to-business (B2B) buyers. At an estimated utilisation of 85%, the facility has the potential to generate annual revenue exceeding Rs 1,000 crore, subject to market conditions and module pricing.

Management comment
Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) Ankit Garg said the plant was delivered in under nine months and is equipped to manufacture high-efficiency G12 modules. He added that the facility is expected to strengthen the company’s supply chain and execution capability while supporting margin improvement in its EPC business.
