Aerem appoints Nilesh Malani as Executive Director

Aerem has appointed Nilesh Malani as Executive Director. In this role, he will lead the company’s consumer business, marketing, and direct-to-consumer (D2C) e-commerce verticals as the platform expands its integrated solar ecosystem for micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) and homeowners.
Malani brings more than 20 years of experience in brand building, consumer business growth and digital transformation across multiple sectors. He most recently served at Waaree Group as Global Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) and Business Head for Special Modules from February 2024 to December 2025.
Before joining Waaree Group, Malani was Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) at Polycab India for nearly three and a half years. Earlier, he held marketing leadership roles at JSW Steel for close to six years. His earlier career includes a 13-year tenure at Castrol India across customer marketing, regional sales and brand management, and an initial stint in sales at Asian Paints.
Aerem operates a solar-focused non-banking financial company (NBFC) licensed by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI). The company also runs SunStore, a business-to-business (B2B) marketplace that connects original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), distributors and installation partners. Its digital platform is designed to allow customers to manage the solar adoption process from installation through long-term energy savings.
The company states that its platform aims to help users reduce electricity costs by up to 80%. Aerem is backed by investors including Blume Ventures, UTEC, Avaana Capital, British International Investment, SE Ventures and Riverwalk Holdings.
